An Item A Day - Day 29

I have been waiting for a large order of acrylic floral beads for weeks.  It finally came yesterday.  I was so excited when I went out for the mail.  I opened the package and much to my dismay, they were all smaller than I thought they were going to be.  I guess even with my little metric ruler, I still can not get metric straight in my head.   

Sitting in my kitchen looking at them I figured I could do something with them just the same.  Once in the studio I started to panic though.  Not many of my filigree pieces fit!  Okay, Sandy, deep breath.  After all, this is pretty much how my life goes.   After a short "now what?"  session I dug deeper into my stash, started fiddling and realized I had multiple opportunities for new designs.  Panic over.  Here is one of the final designs.

Beyond the Daffodils - Dangle Pierced Earrings

Who can resist the beauty of the first Spring Daffodils? Wear these to remind you of the season.

Light weight acrylic beads make them easy to wear. In this pair I combined white and yellow floral beads with orange Swarovski crystals and antique gold colored filigree.

Hanging from gold plated French ear wires. Dangle length is 1" or about 25 mm.

An Item A Day - Day 28

Yesterday was a ring day I guess.   As I was struggling to keep all three wires together evenly on one of them a light bulb came on.  Why not purposely seperate them?  I tried it and I like the way it looks, especially when worn.  Today is the debute of my splayed band rings!  I hope you like them too.

An Item A Day - Day 27

After our trip to the dentist yesterday, I did manage to get a few hours in the studio.    It is so hard for me to get in gear when something disrupts my routine.  I hate that about me!  Anyway, here is a little trinket I managed to create.

Blue Mood Dangle Earrings - Salvaged Vintage Beads

Pretty blue earrings to perk up a blue mood day.

Vintage blue swirl bead saved from a broken necklace sit atop a silver toned filigree ball. A matching Swarovski crystal adds sparkle.

Hanging on Sterling Silver French ear wires. Dangle length is 1 3/8" or 35 mm.

An Item A Day - Day 26

I am late posting my item today.  I started the morning doing one of my least favorite things.  That twice a year visit to the dentist!  UGH!!!  At least I walked away with no need to return for another 6 months.  YEAH!  Only a few more days and my goal of posting an item every day until our vacation time will have been met.   Never fear, I have some other tricks up my sleeve to keep me working in the stuido.

Dreamy Sweet Green Dangle Earrings

A soft, muted green acrylic focal bead centers each dangle on this pair of filigree earrings. A matching Swarovski crystal sparkles at both the top and the bottom.

An Item A Day - Day 25

This design was inspired by a Victorian Tussie Mussie I found on Etsy. Immediately I knew what to do with all those single floral beads in my box!  That idea was reinforced when I found more Tussie Mussie on several blogs.  I just had to try and recreate one in beads.  This is the results:

Full of color and sparkel, this modern take on the Victorian era Tussie Mussie was made to wear. The flowers and leaves dangle and dance as you move. Made from acrylic and glass beads with a touch of Swarovski Crystal. Silver plated filigree forms the flower's holder.

An Item A Day - Day 24

Okay, I admit it.  I put this pair on last evening.   I was so excited about how they turned out I couldn't wait to get them on Etsy.   There is the evening shoppers I miss when I only upload in the morning, right?   

Not only did they turn out great but I got to play with power tools!  I love power tools.  So what if it was only my little Dremel?   I learned I can alter the filigree by using different tips on it.   The beads in this pair are long and thin.  They were begging for more than just somthing sitting on top of them.  Sure, I could have ordered different filigree, but where's the fun in that?  I cut and filed and had a wonderful time adjusting filigree I already had to create these beauties.
