Angel Earring Give Away

Boy, do I feel like I've been out of the loop forever!  I just can't seem to get back into the swing of things after my surgery.  What better way to get myself motivated than to offer another give-away?

Every one needs an angel or two hovering around them so I chose these cute little angel earrings to send to the lucky winner.  All you have to do is visit either of my Etsy sites and come back here to tell me your favorite item(s).   That's it.  You will automatically be entered into the drawing.  If you would like to increase your chances of winning, I would love it if you mentioned this give-away in your blog.  If you do, I will enter your name twice.  The winner will be picked on Friday, June 5th.  I used Random.com to do the picking for me, so all is fair.

Enchanting Ballroom Earrings

I had to sit in the hospital for a week knowing these beautiful beads were waiting for me to turn them into something wonderful. There is absolutely nothing like the sparkle of Swarovski Crystal! I've tried all the imitators and while they do make nice beads, they just don't capture the light in the same way.

Made for the special occasions in your live, the light in these crystal earrings will dazzle your partner as you dance the night away.

Each piece has a large inverted tear drop made from Swarovski's best in clear crystal with an Aurora Borealis (AB) finish. The crystal has been wrapped in swirling Silver plated filigree and capped at both ends with a spacer bead and a Jet Black Swarovski crystal.

Measure 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches or 13 x 31 cm.

Hanging on solid Sterling Silver French ear wires.

MIA

Hi Folks!

I'm back.  I've been in the hospital all week for a gallbladder attck and removal.  I had the battle of the dueling doctors who could not decide when I could come home.  I felt up to it a full 2 days before they let me.  I am a former nurse, and oh, how I hate doctors!  I had good ones, and they gave me excellent care, but they never listen to the patient.  Dr. A said I could go home the night of surgery if I felt up to it.  Dr. B said to wait until the next morning.  I had a little post op temp so Dr. B said I had to stay one day for IV antibiotics.  Dr. B takes the day off so Dr. C turned the one day into 2.   I was so mad at them by the time Drs A, B, and C all said I could go home I was ready to spit nails!

At any rate, no beading was done this week.  No gardening either.  They told me I could resume regular activities, so I'm going to go putter out there until I'm pooped.  That should take about 15 mintues out of my day.  I can get a few seeds in at least.  Then I'll come in and hit the beads again.

Something Old is New Again

Something old is new again, and oh how I wish it was me!

The ivory colored beads used for these pretty earrings were rescued from what I refer to as a "butt ugly" necklace I found in a box of junk at a garage sale.  You know what they say.  "One man's trash is another man's treasure."  That sure holds true for these.  The beads are very old plastic.  They might even be Bakelite, I'm not sure.   They had ugly red centers that had faded and run.  I was afraid the beads wouldn't be salvagable, but they cleaned up beautifully.

I put my usual favorite Swarovski crystals in the centers, along with a new pastel colored floral bead.  Three pair were all I could save from the necklace, so I have 3 OOAk sets of earrings in three different colors.

Here is the link to the pair pictured.  Blue Lily Earrings .

New Style Floral Earrings

Well,  after goofing off and making some all too common angels for the past few days, I decided it was time to get back to coming up with my own design.  I dumped out all the floral beads and started playing.  I matched and paired, and put ungodly combinations together for a long time.   Nothing was working.  Then, with just the twist of one bead I discovered these Pansy like earrings.  Now, why couldn't I have thought of that in the first place?

There are several different color combinations that will show up in my Etsy shop as I get to them.  My camera battery died in the middle of taking pictures, so some will be a while.  Luckily I still had enough power to load what I did get onto the computer.

No gardening today.  It's cold and raining and just play bone aching weather.  I'm going to stay in and create.  I may venture out to see if the rain made anything pop it's first leaves through the ground.  The peas have been in for 10 days.  They should be peaking out soon!

Angel Love OR - Are They Fairies? and -Garden Woes...

Okay, okay, so they are not original. They are just so darn cute I had to make them. Actually, the idea came to me before I checked Etsy and found quite a few similar ones. I went ahead and made them anyway. Cute is cute! I don't have as much time for beading this time of year anyway, so an old idea is better than none.

The peas, spinach, parsnips and the first planting of beets are in. I just finished prepping the potato bed. I fail to understand why the Lord blessed us with such a good crop of rocks! Some Groundhog is going to be very upset with me as I dumped a whole wheelbarrow full of rocks in his hole. My DH insists I leave him space to plant corn. IF he does get it planted, who do you think is going to tend it? At least corn doesn't mind rocks. One more root bed to prep yet for the carrots. This year we are planting small beds of different things to see what grows best here. We eliminated eggplant last year. 8 plants yielded 3 small eggplants! I could have bought them cheaper!

Well, I guess I've caught my breath now. Off to scrape the fence! oh...yippie...

New Beads and Busy Days

Look at the pretty new beads I received a few days ago. I've managed to make and list a few pair. I am thrilled with the way they turned out.  See here: The Earring Bouti que

Things are pretty hectic here these days.
Cross Roads opens tomorrow and we've been traveling back and forth a couple times a week to get ready.  I've been finishing up last minute projects for the market at home too.  The yard still need some work despite all the help from my daughters. The garden was tilled last week end and it is my job to get it planted. I've put in the peas, spinach and beets so far. I am fearful of our sporadic weather so tender things must wait a few weeks. DH keeps bringing home more seeds for me to plant. I keep reminding him I only have so much space to work with. I don't mention what it does to my back!  He has plans to put in a small section of corn.  Any bets?
