Buffalo - The Big City

Wednesday we went to the "Big City" as we call it. Buffalo, NY, with it's ever changing weather and skyline. Construction cranes are once again swinging from high towers downtown.

Now, I had no intention of going downtown. We were only headed for Blaisdell and Cheektowaga, both subburbs with craft stores I love. We hit Michael's, JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby. I managed to spend every cent I took with no problem. The problem came when I assumed DH had gotten on the NY Thruway enough times there to know which entrance ramp to use. DUMB MOVE!!! I know better, but I was thinking about what I was going to make with the beads I bought and before I knew it, he was headed East instead of West. I waited for quite a while to see if he even realized he was going the wrong way. I figured we'd just take the loops around the city and be headed in the right direction without getting off onto side streets with him all hot and bothered, if you know what I mean. So, just before the I190 around the city I asked him just where he was going. It wasn't until then that he figured it out. We added a few miles and minutes to our trip, but it was a nice day for a drive along the Niagara River , down through the city, over the skyway and along Lake Erie.

I've been making soap for a friend's shop, so the jewelry making came to a hault for the past few days. Today DH is back at work so I'm hoping to accomplish a lot, including some new earrings. I'd better get off this computer and get at it!

I'm the one who is most likely to take a wrong turn; my husband has an amazing sense of direction. I call him my "sherpa". He carries my stuff and doesn't let me get lost.

Glad you made the best of the day! I could spend my money quick at those stores, too!
