A Bit Better Today

As you can see by looking at yesterday's post and today's, it is a bit better weather wise in Western New York. The unofficial snow fall total in our back yard for just yesterday was 30 inches. My daughter is missing a day of work today because she couldn't travel back home yesterday. I have to admit, I was glad to keep her one more day. The snow is beautiful to look at, but horrid to drive in.

Today I am planning on ironing, blocking and photographing two of my new projects to put on Etsy. I've done the Scandinavian embroidery called Hardanger for years. It was put aside when I started getting serious about making jewelry. Since I have a stockpile of earrings, necklaces and bracelets just sitting here it was a good time to bring out the sewing again. As with all avid crafters, I had several unfinished projects in various stages of completion. I've finished two and there's one more in the works. I can't wait to show them to you! On our heroic trip to the craft stores last Saturday I found colored thread that is going to turn into a Dutch blue on white and a Swedish red on white mat. Oh my, so many projects... so little time!

Wow - 30 inches is quite a bit. I live here in Southern Maine and we got about 8 yesterday. I think they got a bit more up North.

Awe Sandy, you wasn't joking!!!
If you get here by Saturday morning EARLY, I'll sneak you in my luggage and you can come with us to the Bahamas and get away from all that snow!
Although, I have to say...the white stuff is gorgeous and sooo picturesque, especially right outside your window!! We never get that here and I've never seen anything like that in real life.
But...if you decide to get away...get packing!!! :)

I live for weather like this! I can stay inside with my crafts and not have to make excuses to the world for not joining it. I just wish I could have gotten all the supplies I needed on our trip to the "Big City". Now I'll have to wait until my PayPal account gets something in it so I can buy what I need online. Hope it's not Spring by then!

I wish we had 30 inches of snow! I live in Northeast Ohio where it gets clobbered with Lake Effect snow. Unfortunately, I live right by the lake, so all the snow bypasses my house. Drive a half hour south, and they have 22 inches of snow and counting. Hope you get lots done today!

Oh my gosh! You were right about it being cold there! I thought it was bad here....we've had 11 degree weather and tons of wind...but most of our snow had melted. Just a little bit left. I can't wait til SPRING! Hope you keep warm and busy with your projects.
